USCIS Announces Third Round of H-1B Lottery Selections for FY 2022

Bridge Team Member

On Friday, November 19th, USCIS determined that additional registrations will be selected to reach the 2022 fiscal year's H-1B numerical allocations. Following the second lottery, this is the third random selection from FY22 H-1B cap registrations, with the previous selections occurring in March and July 2021. The filing window will open on November 22nd, 2021, and will close on February 23, 2022 -- just in time for the FY23 lottery to open in March!

Who is impacted by the third lottery?

  • Global Citizens - Our team will be reviewing all previously submitted applications for our partners on myUSCIS to determine how many new registrations were selected.
  • People Teams - Our team will share new selections with our partner companies, and confirm that we can proceed with filing before alerting employees. We will then ask you to re-confirm all Position Details that were added to the platform.

How can you check the status of applications for individuals?

  • Online Portal (myUSCIS): Companies with selected registrations will have their myUSCIS accounts updated to include a selection notice, which includes details of when and where to file. USCIS will also send emails to the main registrant of the company account stating that a change has occurred.
  • Bridge Platform: Our team will be updating selected employees' cases on the platform once we have permission to move forward with next steps.
